In 2013, Nicholas Construction had the privilege of being contracted for a full refurbishment of a prominently positioned village home nestled in the heart of Constable Country. This project allowed us to blend modern design with traditional charm, resulting in a stunning transformation that reflects the character of the area.

Originally built in the early 1950s, the home required an update to meet contemporary living standards. Our team rose to the occasion, constructing substantial two-storey extensions to both the front and side elevations of the house. These extensions were designed in a traditional farmhouse style that complements its rural village setting.

One of the most exciting aspects of this refurbishment was the addition of a modern, predominantly glazed pod to the rear of the home. This innovative space features a spacious kitchen on the ground floor, and above, a luxurious principal bedroom suite offers a serene retreat.

Both levels of the pod are graced with floor-to-ceiling glazed pocket doors, creating a seamless transition between the indoors and the beautiful outdoor setting. This design floods the space with natural light right into the heart of the home.

The entire project was completed in just under a year, and the results speak for themselves. This refurbishment has not only revitalised the property but has also contributed to the charm of the village.
